Skiing the Alps and the many slopes, trams, and chairlifts to choose from in Grindelwald is a wonderful experience. We had perfect visibility and we could see for 15 miles. The slopes are long and challenging. They do have some bunny slopes and instructors, however, I recommend that you be an intermediate to expert to fully enjoy and appreciate these slopes. Lunch and the view from the top are certainly worth the price of admission.

Amazing ski school - our three children absolutely loved their time with Altitude (Pete, Sophie & Val) and all made fantastic progress with their skiing.
All expertly run by Ben (who was excellent in the build-up to our visit and flexible to catering for the differing needs of our children).

Our family had a fantastic experience learning with Altitude Ski School. Our kids had varied levels of ability and confidence but they all benefited from Altitude's friendly and flexible approach. The communication with us to make arrangements was great and everything ran really smoothly. Ben and Sophie were firm favourites and will both be fondly remembered.

Friendly instructors. We (Dad & 2 teenagers) have been skiing a fair bit in the past so booked 3 private classes with Ben who was super helpful as well as knowledgeable about the Région. He was flexible and happy to adjust to our requests. We improved significantly. Thanks. Adam

Avoid at all costs!! I signed up for private lessons as a complete beginner for a week in December 2022. On my first day, the instructor Ryan Wilding took me from the beginner bunny slopes to a red slope, with absolutely no explanation of what to expect. I had just barely learnt how to turn on my first day skiing ever. When paying for a private instructor, I trusted his judgement.
As a result, I was not equipped to handle such a challenging run and lost control. I fell and severely dislocated my elbow, suffered an arm fracture and a torn ligament. I was airlifted by helicopter to the nearest hospital in Interlaken.
Ryan Wilding is incompetent and completely unfit to be a ski instructor as he has zero regard for student's safety. The school's manger Ben Patrick offered nothing by way of a refund for the lessons missed due to injury. He had a very casual attitude towards the incident.
This entire experience has left me in serious pain wearing a cast, along with several thousands in medical bills. I urge anyone looking to ski to book elsewhere where your safety will be prioritized.

Had great lessons with both Veronica and Ryan. Veronica was extremely patient, kind and knowledgable, she helped my daughter progress and gain confidence. Ryan is also a great instructor, excellent at teaching and helped me to make huge changes to my skiing technique. Would highly recommend Altitude, they were very accommodating in booking a lesson at late notice too, I will definitely book again when in Grindlewald.

Spent 5 days doing group lessons as a beginner and took three further private lessons. Had a fantastic time with my instructor Peter (ex-military), who also teaches people with disabilities. Lessons were at Kleine Scheidegg, took the train up from Grindelwald every morning and afternoon. Peter built up my confidence while pushing me further and further each day. Very friendly, easy to understand, technically proficient, picking up my areas to work on and felt safe going down my first blue runs. He even threw in a few psychological pep talks after a mishap or two! Highly recommend Altitude and Peter. Will be back, not least for the stunning scenery.

Great experience with Altitude both in terms of the booking process and actual skiing in Grindelwald - special thanks to our instructor Ryan!
We were incredibly fortunate to have Ryan as our instructor - he is an excellent teacher who took the time to identify our needs and helped us every step of the way with clear explanations. He knew exactly when to push our limits but we never felt unsafe or rushed. Moreover, Ryan is great company to have on the slopes and made our week all the more enjoyable
Fully recommend Altitude Ski and Ryan as an instructor, hoping to return next winter!

My wife and I had an excellent experience with Altitude Ski School Grindelwald: from the booking with clear communication and clarity to most importantly our excellent instructor (Peter W) who equally encouraged, corrected and explained what we needed to do to the next level while having a great experience at the same time. Will visit again soon!
