I will be visiting Versailles, again, in July. I have never been able to see the Kings private apartments or go to Le Trianon. I am looking for recommendations for the best ticket to purchase to see the grounds, palace, etc. as well bypass the security lines. What do you recommend?
Dear Laurie,
I think your best option is to make a booking for a conference tour directly at the website of the Palace of Versailles. The Palace of Versailles is the only one who has tours of the private appartments. When you get into the Palace with a (conference) guide, you do not have to stand in line.
You will have to purchase an entrance ticket besides the tour of the private appartments. You can buy the Passport ticket (18 euro on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - 25 euro on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays) which will allow you to enter into the Palace, Gardens and Marie-Antoinette's Estate (Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon and Queen's Hamlet). The visit other then for the private appartments, will be a self-tour.
Our office has guided tours of the Gardens and Marie-Antoinette's Estate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Don't hestitate to contact us by mail if you wish to receive the rates.
I stay at your disposal for any further information.
Kind Regards,
