A voir absolument. Tapis authentiques et magnifiques. Choix immense et pour tous les prix. Des kilims, des tapis en laine, en soie....

Toujours un soucis de s'arrêter chez un commerçant au Maroc mais pas là. Le propriétaire vous accueille sans pression, vous explique la fabrication des tapis berbères, vous en déplie autant que vous avez envie d'en voir sans jamais vous poussez à l'achat.
Une autre salle se visite, riche de magnifiques objets et bijoux. Un musée ! Et les pièces sont de qualité.

This rug store has over 35,000 carpets made locally by women in their homes from the area. Muhammad who helped us was extremely knowledgeable. The selection was astounding and we found a very special rug that will arrive door to door in less than 2 weeks. Expect to bargain HARD.

They have a huge selection of handsome locally hand-made rugs in all sizes, colors and patterns. I was told by a source i consider reliable that their prices are fair, and less than what one would pay in the cities for comparage rugs. They speak English (as well as, or course, French, Arabic and Berber. Even if you don't buy, it's fun to see even a small smapling of their beautiful rugs.

This 5 hour trip was very nice up in the mountain, we drove to Ourika and have lunch by the river and they served it in the water ... that was cool and must try

A friend recommended La Source du Tapis and I’m so glad we went there. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and we spent about four hours choosing four exquisite rugs with their help. The prices were fair and I never felt I was being pressured. The section is vast - over 25000 rugs of many designs and ages - and I left having learned a good deal. We were given tea and a delicious ravine for lunch, which certainly deepened the experience. One we’d agreed on pricing (it’s best to pay in cash to avoid bank surcharges) the sales team set up shipping for us to the States. Shipping costs are high, but the rugs are such a bargain compared to American pricing that we still got an excellent deal. We couldn’t be more pleased with our purchases and the whole process.

We hadn't planned on purchasing a carpet, but once in Marrakesh we were seduced by the tremendous choice and beauty. Our driver recommended this place (I'm fairly certain he got a commission, but that's fine with me), and so we stopped here on the way up to Ourika. Whether you plan on purchasing or not, this store is worth seeing, it is amazing. We were handed over to the charismatic (and shrewd) "Pedro" (I think his real name was Abdul or Abdel, I can't recall) who proceeded to lay out eye-candy after eye-candy, as well as regaling us with facts about the carpets, the store, himself, the Berber traditions, etc. (and of course, we were offered mind tea). When my wife set eyes on the carpet she had been looking for, the fun started and she and Pedro sparred for 20 minutes. We eventually found a mutually agreeable price (I won't disclose how far down we went, doesn't seem fair to the store) and then had to contend with how to get the carpet back to Europe (we had already exhausted our baggage limit). The store had an option to ship with DHL (175 euros, directly from the DHL price list we were shown, but which seems a bit steep to me, considering we also paid about 50 euros at customs), but we were so enamored of the carpet we acquiesced. Then started the anxiety about whether it would ever arrive at home, and whether it would be the same carpet we chose (probably irrational, but hey...what can I say?). All went well, we had the carpet in less than a week, same carpet, perfect condition, DHL and Le Source all carried through as planned. It is in our flat, and looks absolutely gorgeous. And yes, I think we got an excellent deal.

Big store on way to High Atlas Mountains with lots of Morocan carpets, jewelry, and more...most products seemed to be of decent quality but the prices seemed very high...and it is obviously a high priced tourist location with only tour guides taking you there and getting there 3-5% commissions. Seems like 30% discount is the maximum here as well as many other higher end stores in Marrakesh.

We were advised to visit La Source du Tapis by our hiking tour guide (former employee of the carpet shop). Indeed the advice by Abdel Jalil was good and under his guidance we found our dream carpet on July 29. After tough negotiations we agreed on the price of 5.500 DH. We paid with bank pass and here the trick happened. Our pass was not accepted by the machine and we had to use another machine. All done in good faith since we fully trusted Abdel. Back home in The Netherlands we found out that we had paid twice. Convinced it was a mistake we still trusted them and we were sure they would refund the double payment. Unfortunately they never called us back, never reacted on the dozens of emails send by us. So yes after all we were tricked by La Source du Tapis and paid twice. So watch out for these guys. They look nice and professional but in fact are small criminals.
