I visited because I am a huge fan of James Bond. The experience of walking around a location which is so unchanged from when filming took place is amazing. My French is not great so quite a few of the details of the guided tour were lost on me but I gleaned enough to understand some of the extensive history of the house and its famous occupants. The tour is a must for the true Bond fan as you will be able to enter the house and climb the stairs to the room where the opening fight sequence was filmed. No photos are allowed in the house, but there are a good selection of postcards which do justice to the scene.

A castle to visit so much furniture and other are great. Historical pieces to discover. A castle that unfortunately lost two thirds of its surface. An entrance fee unfortunately too high (11€). Nowtenon, not far away, is at 8.5€ with gardens and another interior quality.

Beautiful little chateau. But few rooms to visit, visit the park forbidden!, photos forbidden even from outside, so very short visit and excessive admission Award. No toilets, we are well in France.

Built in 1548 by King Henry II; purchased in 1869, it is a family home, private and inhabited. One of the jewels of the French Renaissance. Originally 3 buildings, only the left wing and the chapel remain. Being inhabited, only certain rooms are open to the public; therefore interior photos prohibited as well as access to the park. Visit made by the former caretaker of the premises who has perfect knowledge of its history. Rich in its history and its furniture. In principle, open to the public only in the afternoon, but, as a group, part of us had access in the morning, while the others visited the Renaissance Interpretation Center. The opposite after our lunch..

If you are looking for a place to spend a pleasant time with your family, you can go your way. People will look at you askance as soon as you arrive (and yes you have children with you) and will not fail to make inappropriate comments. I can only recommend not going to this place whose setting is pleasant but the management needs to change. It seems that these people have forgotten their past... Too bad but it doesn't matter, there are many other fantastic places to discover in our regions with a real welcome.

Cher Monsieur, nous sommes navrés de votre retour d'expérience et plutôt surpris.
Nous accueillons régulièrement des familles pour des visites et de nombreux publics scolaires dès la 1ere section de maternelle . Les enfants sont ici les bienvenus au contraire.
Quelles sont les réflexions non appropriées? ?
Si les équipes ont fait des remarques ( guide ou accueil ) c est qu elles devaient etre justifiées. Moment agreable en famille ne rime pas avec absence de règles.

SHAMEFUL, 2024 still NO DISABLED ACCESS AND 0 INFORMATION ON THEIR WEBSITE, 1 hour drive to arrive and be kicked out like dirty people like we were doing this on purpose and we should have known about it, A SHAME I STRONGLY RECOMMEND 5 other people have found themselves, like us, being kicked out without having the right to access, the least they can do is write it in BIG ON YOUR HOME PAGE OF THE SITE! Fortunately, just opposite there is a great site to visit for people with reduced mobility, it is even more interesting than the castle itself, thank you to them for their magnificent welcome and their place which is very accessible to all.

Madame, Nous vous remercions de votre retour et vous prions de croire que nous sommes navrés de votre expérience.
Nous avons fait remonter auprès du propriétaire le fait que l'information était manquante sur le site le nécessaire sera fait.
Cependant quelques points :
Après concertation avec l' agent d'accueil vous n' avez pas été mise à la porte comme une malpropre, vous êtes rentrée, êtes passée devant la file pour demander si c était accessible en fauteuil roulant ce à quoi il vous a été dit que non à cause des escaliers à l'intérieur du Château
Effectivement en face du Château vous avez le centre d'interprétation qui est accessible pour les personnes à mobilité réduite.
C est un espace qui vient d'être re-fait à neuf donc accessible d'autant plus que géré par une mairie.
Je m interoge cependant sur votre dernière phrase : comment savez que le Cir est plus intéressant que le château puisque vous n avez pas visité le chateau ? Et surtout avec une heure de trajet comment ne pas se renseigner par téléphone ?
Nombreuses personnes en situation de handicap nous appelle et nous essayons toujours de trouver une solution pour permettre de visiter ce lieu privé.

The gentleman at reception is particularly unpleasant. I am not leaving a review on the castle but on the welcome at the castle.
Already, there are no toilets… for an entry cost of 11 euros. They redirect you to an outdoor toilet... dirty... and which closes automatically... I couldn't.
Then, I was there with two young children, and the man at reception shouted at me twice, without being polite.
Indeed, my children were playing with the stones, I tried to stop them, as best I could, but he almost asked us to leave, indicating that it was a private castle, but without putting in the form, directly in attacking me.
So, I didn't make the visit, because my children were unbearable for a guided visit (that's not the castle's fault).
Otherwise, the place is very beautiful but I was not able to enjoy it

Après lecture de votre message et concertation avec les équipes il semblerait que quelques règles soient à rappeler
Il y a une différence entre jouer avec des cailloux et JETTER des cailloux , la nuance entre les deux peut vous paraître subtile néanmoins très importante.
Dés votre arrivée vos enfants ont ouvert les placard à l accueil, jetter des cailloux sur les projecteurs , tapé sur les fenêtres au point d en interrompre une visite.
De nombreux visiteurs se sont plaind et certains sont même intervenus auprès de vos enfants en plus de la guide et de l agent d'accueil.
Si tant bien que mal vous n arrivez pas à les stopper, peut être que les emmener dans un parc se défouler plus que dans un château serait judicieux ( en plus de leurs imposer des limites )

The visit to this castle is moving thanks to the guide-lecturer, erudite but not pedantic, who dominates her subject and responds with kindness to the questions asked by visitors.
To be completed by a visit to the funeral chapel, right next door.

Renseignez-vous à la SNCF; Dreux n'est pas loin, il y a sans doute un bus qui passe à ANET ( ? ) mais renseignez- vous bien sur les horaires d'ouverture de ce Château ! ! ...
