We were delighted that our holiday coincided with a practice life boat launch on the Tuesday evening. It gets busy so best to arrive early (we arrived about 45 mins before the launch) A commentary by the RNLI staff was very informative and interesting.

We are delighted that you were able to visit Bembridge Lifeboat Station recently to see our Tamar Class All-Weather Lifeboat launching for training and that you found it so interesting & worthwhile. Thank you very much for recommending us to others by giving us an "excellent" review. Our crew and guild members, and in particular our volunteer "Visits" guides & those serving in the "Shop" are extremely proud of the fact that most visitors kindly do always give us 5 out of 5! For anyone reading this response, the daily opening times of our Shop & the Offshore Boathouse are currently 11am to 4pm (Boathouse closes at 3.50pm). Please note that there is a lift for those who can't manage the steps to reach the viewing gallery and we also have a wheel chair (ask in the shop) for those who think the walkway to Offshore Boathouse may be a bit too far for them. For those staying at the Bembridge Coast Hotel, there is normally a weekly talk on the RNLI on Wednesday afternoons at 4.30pm in the Ball Room and conducted tours of the Lifeboat Station on Thursdays and Saturdays at 1.30pm. You will find details in Reception. Please note that we don't launch every Tuesday evening for training. Details of how to keep in touch with us, information on our operational "shouts" and when we are planning on launching for training can be found on our local Bembridge Lifeboat website & Facebook page. Finally, please don't forget to always "Respect the Water". If you find yourself unexpectedly in cold water, fight your instinct to swim and just float for the first three quarters of a minute. For more information please visit the RNLI "Respect the Water" website

We went this morning as it was raining and so glad we did. Friendly volunteers and we just missed the launch from inside (but saw from the pier) kids loved trying on the uniforms and the interactive pieces. Friendly volunteers, beautiful beach at Bembridge. Well worth a visit, get there early! Car park is small

My 2nd review on this place. Again we visited with our grandson and other members of family again it didn't disappoint. We got to speak to people in the other station who mentioned they were launching on Tuesday due to training so we visited twice during our visit. Can't get enough of this place. A beautiful setting but also a very needed place. We also found they have increased the parking area which is great. Also this time they had RNLI uniforms for the children to dress up in. Can definitely spend a few hours here looking around the station and shop. Also at low tide a great place for crabbing

Thanks to someone else's review on here we visited for the practice launch night which happens weekly (check their Facebook page)
Free to attend but we did donate at the end
You get an informational talk beforehand and then the crew board and launch the lifeboat which is a great experience to see close up
Kids can also try on the mini lifeboat crew uniforms
Very nice evening out

A fascinating talk by the very friendly and knowledgeable staff member (sorry we missed your name). The workings of the boat and crew were explained clearly and it is humbling to understand what these very brave and courageous men & women selflessly do to earn their mint humbug! (You will have to go to understand the reference). The tour around the lifeboat station with its interesting displays, pictures and history is free but you leave willing to make a donation to such a worthy cause. A definite must do if you are in the area.

Half term fun for all. The children loved the wel considered activities they laid on and the adults learned a thing or two while wandering.

Interesting and educational, staff were so helpful. Great location with a pier and all it had to offer .

Well worth a visit and donation.

Open generally 2-4pm weather etc permitting. We visited with adult daughter in her wheelchair and the gentleman on duty was most kind and helpful. Interesting potted history of the station and its operations and an opportunity to learn about the great work the RNLI does as well as viewing the lifeboat itself (outside only). Great sea views from the access pier!

Great place to visit with the family. We went when they did a practice launch so great to see all the action whilst inside the station. Would highly recommend. Loads of things to keep the kids amused inside the station house and there are lots of nice walks nearby.
